What is the population in Tanzania?

The population of Tanzania is almost 60 million people. Being one of the most ethnically diverse countries, over 125 ethnic groups live in Tanzania, with over 100 languages spoken throughout the nation.

Do I need a visa for Tanzania?

Most international travelers require a visa to enter Tanzania. The latter can be requested online via the  official website  of the Tanzanian government. Please note that this is the only official site to apply online.

It is also possible to obtain a tourist or business visa for single entry at the Tanzanian border at the main entry points into Tanzania. This visa is valid for three months. You may be asked for proof of your return trip, and the cost is $50 per person, or $100 per US citizen.

What vaccinations are required for Tanzania?

The yellow fever vaccine certificate is only required for travelers aged one year and over coming from – or who have had a stopover of more than 12 hours at an airport in a country where yellow fever is endemic.

In addition to standard vaccines such as MMR, DTP, the CDC and WHO recommend certain vaccinations for Tanzania, such as hepatitis A, B and typhoid. Yellow fever and rabies may also be recommended depending on the travelers’ activities. As of January 2023, there are no longer any COVID-19 restrictions in Tanzania and vaccinations and PCR tests are no longer required for entry into the country.
